We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Warehouse Supervisor to join our team. This role is crucial in overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of warehouse processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Supervise the physical control of all distributorship property pertaining to warehouse operations, maintain security of warehouse and property and ensure proper care of all equipment
- Ensure that adequate records are maintained and verification is done for all goods received and shipped from the distributorship premises
- Supervise the receipt, storage, rotation, and shipping of distributorship products to insure that only the highest standards are maintained.
- Direct training, motivation, and evaluation of assigned warehouse personnel
- Complete regular safety audit of warehouse and conduct routine safety training with staff
- Ensure that sanitation and housekeeping are properly maintained on a consistent basis
- Focus on continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation by encouraging new ideas and by implementing those that are feasible and beneficial to the operation
- Weighing pallets built for accuracy
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Computer Skills: Ability to be proficient with any computer software and hardware required for the position.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. This includes reporting of any illegal activity or behaviors by subordinates, coworkers, or leadership. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures compliance with all Finley Distributing company policies, practices, procedures and controls, applicable to his/her primary function.
- Work Environment: working between warehouse and office setting with warehouse having sometimes cold and hot temperatures.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Frequently moving, lifting, positioning, installing heavy materials weighing up to 170 pounds at least 90% of the time
- Positioning self to transport or remove kegs from trucks and pallets
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to converse and ears to listen.
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; To position self ergonomically, safely and successfully accomplish the task at hand.
